Full Text

Savannah, Aug. 1.

Our city has never been, we are happy to say, (observes the Republican) in the enjoyment of a greater degree of health than at this time, of which the most conclusive evidence is the fact, that not a single death has taken place since the 15th of last month. Physicians inform us that fevers are almost unknown; nor is there any sickness excepting a few slight colds. We are told, also, that the mortality which arose from the prevalence of bowel complaints and the measles among the negroes on the plantations, has ceased, and the convalescence of the sick become general.
