LOCAL ELKS ACTIVE AT STATE MEETING

Returning from Kalispell where he represented Beartooth lodge here as a delegate at the 1935 convention of Montana Elks, G. B. Foltz declared this year's gathering one of the best ever held by the state organization. The meeting was expected to draw 400 delegates, but instead drew six hundred.

Mr. Foltz was accompanied to the Kalispell meet by A. M. Hartwig, also a delegate of the local lodge who is spending the summer months at East Helena. In the activities at the state convention, Mr. Hartwig was appointed as a member of the committee on the good of the order and Mr. Foltz served on the auditing committee.

Efforts of the local delegation to secure Red Lodge as the site for the 1936 state convention failed when Helena was selected over this city by a vote of 43 to 21.
