Sam Marks, Coal Miner, Stabbed to Death: Assailant is at Large

POPOSIA, Wyo., Aug. 20.—Eli Goich, a miner employed by a coal company here, is charged with killing Sam Marks, also a miner, by stabbing him thru the body with a butcher knife.

Cause for the crime is not known at this time, tho it is believed to have been precipitated when Goich and Marks got in a heated argument in the latter's home early this morning. Goich was still at large today.

Marks rushed from his home while Goich ran into the kitchen of the house and, finding a butcher knife, closely pursued the miner and on catching him, is said to have plunged the knife thru his body. He died three minutes later.

A coroner's inquest was held shortly after the crime occurred. Marks is survived by a wife and two children.

Both men are foreigners.
