NEWBURY-PORT, Aug. 25.

Extract of a letter from a gentleman in Biddeford, to his friend in this town, dated August 26, 1796.

"A ship, belonging to Foxwell Curtis, Esq. arrived here from the West-Indies, on board of which was a man sick of the yellow fever. His father went on board and carried him to his house on Sunday. The Friday following the Father was taken with the same disorder, and expired the next day. His son died the night following. The Pilot, who brought in the ship, was taken ill on Thursday, and expired the next day. It is now eight days since the last death, and no further symptoms of the disorder have appeared."
