ANOTHER "UNKNOWN" GRAVE.

Over on Orchard Mesa cemetery in the county cemetery there is a new grave and over that grave is a wooden panel bearing the sad, the desolate legend, "Unknown."

Beneath the new made mound that will in all probability never know the tender care of loving hands as the years come and go, there lay the remains of the young man who was found dead in the irrigation ditch, along the railroad near Loma, a man who in the strength and glory of young manhood met death in a violent manner.

For days Undertaker Gourley has held the remains in his morgue while investigations have been made but as time passed and no one could positively identify the deceased he has been laid to rest to await the Last Great Day when all mysteries will be solved and all clouds of doubt brushed away.

There seems to be but little doubt that the young man was murdered by tramps but this could not be clearly proven and just how he met death and just who he was may remain a mystery for all time.

Perhaps somewhere an aged father awaits the coming of a son, or a young wife looks forward to the time when she will join her husband again but their longings will be in vain and in the meantime, the winter snows and the summer breezes will toll off the passing of the years and gradually this new "unknown" grave, one among the thousands scattered in the cemeteries throughout the country each guarding the dust of some unfortunate mortal, will be forgotten and hidden neath the thick shades of obscurity.
