Enforcement of an earlier injunction against two private dump operators, became a reality last week when they were ordered to comply with terms of the injunction, cease operations and to use the county land-fill-disposal site on the Franklin County Home property.
On last Friday the opening of Franklin County's long-planned land-fill refuse program brought about the enforcement order against Edward Henry, 2238 Harper-rd, and August M. Scheiderer, 87 Hoffman-av, operators of the two dumps which have long been a bone of contention and subject of many arguments between the city and county officials.
The court order issued last Thursday instructed the owners to cover all refuse and to eliminate all fires on the properties.
The dump operated by Henry was located at 1874 McKinley-av and that by Scheiderer at Fisher-rd and McKinley-av.
When hearings on the injunction suits were heard before Common Pleas Judge Cecil J. Randall, the jurist branded another McKinley-av dump operated by the city of Columbus as the "worst offender of all."
As a result of the charges made by Judge Randall, the county health commissioner, Dr. H. L. Mitchell, has asked Prosecutor Ralph J. Bartlett to seek an injunction against the city dump.
