TRUSTEES TAKE CHARGE.

Messrs. R. I. Manning and G. A. Lemmon Will Conduct Sumter Banking & Mercantile Company for Benefit of Creditors.

On investigation of the numerous rumors afloat in the community with reference to the termination and dissolution of the business of the Sumter Banking & Mercantile Company, it was found that these rumors are incorrect: Messrs. R. I. Manning and G. A. Lemmon, representing the creditors of this concern, will conduct, with the assistance of Mr. Bowman, the business of this corporation along the same lines as heretofore.

The business will be carried on at the present location. Ample capital has been provided and far from terminating the business, it will be continued.

The terms of the agreement between the parties provide that the business is to be continued under the new management until January 1st, 1909, and after that time the company may be reorganized.

Messrs. Manning and Lemmon, as trustees, have stated that they expect and will require all persons indebted to the Sumter Banking & Mercantile Company to settle their indebtedness promptly at the office of the company and that they have employed Mr. H. A. Moses as cashier and authorized him to sign receipts in their names.

We are pleased to know that this business will be continued and wish the new management all possible success.
