Putnam Elks Stage "Varieties Of 1933" At Bradley Friday

Cast of Fifty From Local Towns To Take Part In Production.-- Sketches From Broadway Hits Features of Novel Entertainment Directed By John Heald.

"Varieties of 1933," with a cast of fifty from Putnam, Danielson and other local towns, will be staged Friday evening at the Bradley Theater under the auspices of Putnam Lodge, B. P. O. E. John Heald, well known Webster director, is in charge of the production.

"Varieties of 1933" will be a variety show in every respect. It is planned to give Putnam something entirely different in the line of entertainment. Song and dance hits, sketches and novelties are among the many feature attractions.

The show will open with a skit entitled "Jazz Justice," The cast is as follows: Officer Slevinsky, Lionel H. Charron; judge, Sidney P. Marland; prisoners, Joseph Bove, Edgar Lucier, J. Ellis Pritchard and Abel Bernier. The entire chorus of about thirty will be heard in musical selections during this sketch.

Three short sketches will comprise the remainder of the show. Among them are hits from Broadway revues. "Mind Your Own Business" will have the following cast: Doctor, Joseph Bove; lawyer, Russell Sherman; Morris Goldberg, Lionel H. Charron; Rachel, Emily Robert; Sammy, Francis Schippers; Rosie, Madeline Tourtellotte.

Cast of "The Obstinate One": Lucy a maid, Rolande Cartier; James, the butler, Russell Sherman; Henry Harwood, Joseph Bove; Jessie Harwood Gracia Vegiard; Archibald Felton, J. Ellis Pritchard; Elizabeth Felton, Jeanne Ankiewicz.

"The Payoff" will include in its cast, Ted, Sidney Marland; Mr. McGoofus, Bernard Casey. The above shows have played a big part in some of the recent successful stage productions staged by Mr. Heald. The chorus numbers, presented in conjunction with each of the sketches, are particularly good. During the entertainment a double quartet from the Community Glee Club of North Grosvenordale will be heard. The quartets are composed of the following members: Elmer Johnson, Al Martel, Frank Pelletier, John Hoenig, Mike Hoenig, Ira Pray, Vincent Hoenig and Edward McKeon.
