John Honore, president of New Haven Typographical Union, No. 47, announced today that a new contract, which covers 110 men, has been negotiated with the Wilson H. Lee Co.
The contract, which is now being submitted to the War Labor Board for Approval, provides a $2 raise for the day and night side, plus a $2 differential increase for the night side, making a $4 differential for the night men. It also provides one week's vacation with pay, and pay for five holidays.
The committee which negotiated the contracts was composed of William Redmond, chairman; Joseph J. Egan, Joseph Eterlin, David Mandell, John Casper, Richard Ryan, and John Honore.
It was also announced that John Redmond, Arthur Finnegan, and James Golden have been named delegates to the New Haven Central Labor Council. Two more are still to be named. Local 47 has also voted to affiliate with the Connecticut Federation of Labor.
