Showers Aid Men in Fighting Forest Fires
Dampened by general showers, four score forest fires in northern Idaho and western Montana were under control a few days ago, crews having been placed on all of the blazes before the rain came to assist in checking them.
The fires followed lightning storms. Twenty-three fires were reported from the Coeur d'Alene forest, 22 in the Nez Perce forest, 15 in the St. Joe forest and 10 in the Clearwater forest, in northern Idaho, following the electrical outburst.
Two more fires were manned and controlled in the Missoula district of the Lolo forest, bringing the number reported on the forest to 11.
