Accident.—On Wednesday the 18th ultimo, while in the act of playing with other small children of the family, Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. John Fry of Shenandoah county, Va. accidentally attempted to swing herself on the side of a hopper, containing nearly a thousand weight of ashes. The frame of the hopper, giving way, the whole weight was precipitated on the head of the little girl, which killed her instantly. The skull was fractured in a dreadful manner, and the brains of the little innocent were strewed around where but a few moments before it sported its youthful gambols.
