Missionaries
dated October 8, 1751, which Advice, that in August last the English repossessed themselves of Arcot, and the Country dependent thereon, and had reinstated a Nabob, who had been driven from thence by Mouzaffer Jung: That by this Advantage all the Country of Arcot was at their Command as far as the River Colliram: That the Kings of Madurai and Mysore, being jealous of the Power of the new King of Golconda, had declared in Favour of the English, and made Alliances with them, whereby the latter are considerably strengthened.
