ENLARGEMENT.

It is with no small degree of satisfaction that we present to our readers this morning our enlarged and improved paper. For some time, owing to the extensive advertising patronage we have received, we have been unable to present as great an amount of reading matter as we desired, and have been obliged to make more room. We have added four columns in width, which with the extra length makes an addition equal to one page of our former size. When we started the Visitor, less than a year ago, we certainly did not expect that there would be any enlargement necessary, for several years, at least: for it is a rare occurrence in newspaper history for a paper to pay its way the first year of its existence.

We return our thanks to the many kind friends, who by word and deed have assisted and encouraged us in our undertaking, and we promise them our best endeavors to make the Visitor an interesting family paper. We do not intend to insert in its columns a line or word, which would render it unfit for the family circle. Our circulation has steadily increased and it has been gained without solicitation on our part. As for our advertising department, "it speaks for itself." We have the patronage of the best and most reliable dealers in almost every branch of business in this vicinity, and we shall so display their offerings that they will be seen and read at a glance, which we believe is the object of advertising. For the present, although we have increased our columns some three inches in length, we shall make no addition in our advertising rates, or in the price of our paper.
