FISHERMEN, ALSO CANNERY WORKERS VOTING ON UNION

ASTORIA, Oregon, Sept. 20--(A) A vote by CIO fishermen and cannery workers of the Columbia river will determine this week whether they will join Harry Bridges' Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union.

The balloting began yesterday at Ilwaco, Rosburg, Altoona, Pillar Rock, Skamokawa and Cathlamet.

Voting will be carried on in other locals later this week with Astoria and Warrenton balloting Thursday.

The proposal to affiliate with the L. S. W. U. was made at the last fishermen's convention.
