S. F. Machine Shops Seized by U. S.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14. (UP)- The White House announced Monday that President Roosevelt has signed an executive order directing Secretary of Navy James Forrestal to take possession of five machine shops in San Francisco where refusal of employes to work overtime is interfering with war production.

The five shops ordered seized are of the Federal Mogul corporation where the War Labor Board said employes are on strike, because the company refused to discharge certain men who elected to work overtime; the Pacific Gear and Tool works, the Link-Belt Co. (Pacific division), the U. S. Pipe and Manufacturing Co., and the Enterprise Engine and Foundry Co.
