They write from Madrid, that his Catholick Majesty has declared to the Ministers of the Maritime Powers; that he had, at their Request, sent Orders to stop all Hostilities in America: but that the Portuguese Colony of San Sacramento, serving only as a Staple where contraband Goods were received and vended, he must insist, that the King of Portugal will engage by an Article in the Treaty of Accommodation, to forbid his Subjects in America, to countenance Smuggling in any of the Places where they are settled.
