A yacht constructed almost exclusively of aluminum was recently launched on Lake Zurich, in Switzerland. Her length is forty-three feet, her beam six feet and her draft but two inches. Everything which in a modern iron ship would be of iron is in this new yacht constructed of aluminum from tip of the mast to the lowermost part of the keel. Even the rigging is equipped with aluminum wire, set up with screws of the same metal. Even the machinery of the yacht, excepting the cranks, is made of aluminum. Her weight is 8,000 pounds.
