We clip the following from the Indianapolis Journal of yesterday:
WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 1862.
Governor Morton:
Your State has responded so promptly and liberally to the call of the President for troops, that the Department is willing to afford you every facility for filling your quota. You are therefore authorized to continue recruiting for your six incomplete regiments till the 1st of September.—
Bounty and pay will be allowed.
By order of the Secretary of War,
C. P. BUCKINGHAM.
The regiments authorized by this order will raise the force from this State to such a figure that exclusive of the number necessary to fill the old regiments there will not be more than 3,000 to be drafted. Including in that number 22,000 men, there will not be more than 25,000 to be drafted, which will be almost 300 men to a county on an average. Volunteering for the old regiments goes on with bounty and advance pay till the 1st of September.
Col. Wilder of the 17th Indiana left last evening with over two hundred recruits for his regiment.—Ind. Journal.
