On the 6th of this Month was felt here, and in many other Towns, a Shock of an EARTHQUAKE, which being but light, was not much regarded. But to Day the Affair requires more serious Attention; for we just now received the dismal News that the Shock was very violent, and has done great Damage in Sicily: and that two thirds of Syracuse (once a very famous and noble City: the Metropolis of Noto) one of the principal Towns in the Island, was destroyed
