Construction Gang No. 4 Of Mountain States Telephone And Telegraph Company Arrives Here To Remove Poles And Make Other Improvements
As a preliminary step to the big million dollar paving program in Nogales, the Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph Company is spending approximately $10,000 installing new lines, removing poles, etc.
A telephone company crew of seven men from Phoenix, under supervision of W. R. McNamara, foreman of Construction Gang No. 4, is now in the city and will remain here for the next five or six weeks.
The construction gang is putting in a new line to the new $175,000 Hotel Esplendor, and the telephone company is also getting on a joint lead with the Southern Arizona Power Company on Morley avenue and on Arroyo Boulevard. The power and telephone companies are getting together on the main streets and will use hereafter just one line of poles.
