SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Lettered Districts A. B. and C. held final Oratorial contest on Sunday at the Glenwood High School of Winder. Among the contestants were: Misses Gwendolyn Pate-District B, Post No. 541, Sandersville; Brenda Prowler, District A and Master Walter Whitter, District C. Miss Brenda Prowler won the first prize of $100; Master Walter Whitter, second, $50.00 and Miss Gwendolyn Pate, third of $25.00. Among those from Post No. 541 attending this affair were: David Hooks, Commander; and Mr. G. W. Hilson; from the Auxiliaries-Mmes. Mahalia Warren, Lydia Warthen, Thommie Perry, Edwina Brown, Gladys Rice, Maude Pate, mother of Miss Pate and instructors, Mr. and Mrs. Williams.
