THE INDIAN WAR.

Nashville, (Ten.) March 17.—We have no news of importance here, but expect in a few days to hear of Gen. Jackson's having made a bold thrust at the Creek Indians. He moved from Fort Strother 8 days ago, with a force of about 5000 men in good order, and all the necessary provisions for a short and brilliant campaign. He calculated on reaching the enemy, in 10 or 15 days in their strong towns, and I have no doubt he will settle the war with them in 30 days, giving a good account of their numbers.
