Full Text

A Smash.-Last evening the six and a quarter train from this city to Lawrence, ran against the Haverhill train near the bridge in Lawrence. The Haverhill folks were shifting some cars, and were on the wrong track. The two trains which came in collision, were going slowly, but though they were full of passengers, no one sustained any injury except Mr. Hoyt, the conductor on the Lawrence train, who had his leg broken. The engines were damaged somewhat, and also the baggage car of the Lawrence train. It is very fortunate that the trains were just where they were, and of course not going at their usual speed. - Lowell Courier.
