Ludlow, Vt., Sept. 23.—The sessions of the eighty-fourth annual meeting of the Vermont Baptist state convention and allied societies were concluded here today, each of the societies holding gatherings under the direction of newly elected officers.
The Vermont Baptist Society during the coming year will be governed by President Rev. G. B. Lawson, Brattleboro; vice president, W. W. Stickney, Ludlow, and secretary-treasurer, Rev. Henry Crocker Chester. The Ministers' Conference and Aid Society made no change in their officers with the exception of the addition of Rev. L. J. Bamberg of Montpelier as secretary.
Among the addresses today were those of Rev. L. L. Henson of Providence, R. I.; Rev. John S. Lyon of Holyoke, Mass., and Rev. C. C. Earle of Boston.
At the forenoon session Rev. Dr. W. A. Davidson, superintendent of missions and secretary of the board, presented the annual report of the board of trustees. The report showed that during the year the sum of $12,285 had been added to the permanent and trust funds.
The report of Howard Crane of Burlington, the convention treasurer, showed that the permanent funds are $211,067, but the income of $44,249 is so designated that it cannot be used for convention work.
