They write from the Hague, that the States General growing impatient with the various Reasons alledged by the Court of Spain for delaying to reply to the last Answer of their High Mightinesses, some Ministers of the Government have very lately desir'd the Marquis de St. Gilles, to use his Interest with the Marquis de la Quadra to engage him to expedite such Reply; to the end, that Endeavours might be used, without Delay, for determining in a substantial Manner, all Differences between the two Nations upon Affairs relating to Commerce.

As the Court of Madrid strenuously supports that the Inhabitants of Curacao are notorious for carrying on a clandestine Trade upon the Coasts of the Spanish Dominions, and therefore, ought to be visited, it's foreseen that there will be yet great Contests before this Affair comes to a Determination.
