LATEST FROM EUROPE.

The ship London Packet, Capt. Benedict, arrived at New-York on the 4th inst. bringing a file of the London Courier to May 24. The Paris dates are to the 21st May--They do not furnish any thing important relative to the war in Spain. Extracts follow.

News from the army of Spain.

GERONA, MAY 15.

A despatch was received at midnight from M. the Marshal Moncey, who had marched out to attack the enemy. He writes that Mina has just retired.

The movements of General Molitor will contribute greatly to discourage Milans, and force him to take the route to Barcelona.

The Fort of Figueras continues to fire some bombs; a portion of the inhabitants have returned to the town, and treat our soldiers well.

May 16. M. the Marshal returned to Gerona shortly after the despatch of my last letter. Milans has evacuated the strong position which he occupied; he is marching in the direction of Barcelona, which was the only route open.

Our troops are full of ardor, and joyfully execute all the manœuvres which approximate them to the enemy, whom they burn to contend with.

Extract of a private letter, dated Puv. urdaz, May 11 --The report of the arrival of Mina at Rapoe and Campredon is true; our troops having intercepted him in his route to Barcelona, he was compelled to retrace his steps. He dares not enter any of the towns; all sound the alarm bell at his approach, and the inhabitants arm themselves with us. He would have attempted to traverse the Spanish and French Cedragne, in order to throw himself into La Sevel Urgel had he not feared the infantry and cavalry in this quarter.

He has now divided his troop into two columns, which are closely pursued by two of our brigades; he appears desirous to march upon Cardona but the division of Molitor, which is arriving from Arragon, will prevent him.

If Mina does not find means to enter some fortress he must come to an engagement with our troops--in both cases his destruction is inevitable.
