NAME NEW PRESIDENT
League of Municipalities Closes the Meeting at Atlanta.

Atlanta, Ga., October 6—Following in established precedent of electing a new president, every year, John Mac Vlear, member of the commission government of Des Moines, and secretary-treasurer of the League of American Municipalities for several years was elected president of the league at the closing session of its convention here today succeeding Darius A. Brown, mayor of Kansas City.

Buffalo was chosen for the next meeting place of the convention, winning over Winnipeg on the second ballot by one vote.

The only formal address of the final session was delivered by Mayor Martin Behrmann of New Orleans, on municipally owned belt railroads.

In the afternoon the visitors were entertained with a barbecue at Cold Springs, Ga.
