The Evangelical Ministers Union met in regular weekly session Tuesday at 11 A. M., Rev. S. R. Dinkins, vice president, presiding.
Rev. J. S. Jenkins, the evangelist, conducted the devotional and delivered a well prepared sermon from the text: St. John 4-28:29 "Come. See A Man etc." "A Merciful Man". "A Man That Never Changes," "An Affectionate and Loving Man".
Rev. G. C. McPherson, the gospel song leader, led in singing "I want to be more and more like Jesus." Rev. L. Washington, pastor of St. Luke AME church, was among the new additions to the union.
Rev. S. R. Dinkins read the Allen's Day program that will be celebrated next week beginning Monday night at St. Philip AME church, at which time Bishop W. A. Fountain, D. D., of Atlanta, AME Bishop of Georgia, will speak at the mass meeting, and other speakers.
The sermon of Rev. Jenkins was commended by Revs. J. Wycliffe Keller, J. H. Brown, J. F. Rogers, D. W. Stephens, M. A. Fountain, W. O. P. Sherman, he was given a vote of thanks.
Next Tuesday the order of the day will be a discussion led by Drs. J. W. Keller and J. F Rogers. "Should the ministers engage in politics, if so, to what extent?"
