Paris Talks
'Not Apparent'
(By the Associated Press)
Fresh from talks in Paris with
Foreign Ministers of Britain and
France, U.S. Secretary of State
Acheson lunched today with top
American military and diplomatic
officials at Heidelberg, ancient Ger-
man university town.
The decisions arrived at in Paris
will not be apparent for "weeks
and months," Acheson said on
arrival at Frankfurt yesterday.
He is making a four-day tour of
West Germany following the major
decisions
on
Germany's future
reached by the Big Three. At Bonn,
capital of the West German Re-
public, he will confer tomorrow with
Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and
President Theodore Heuss.
The Germans are pressing for
more sovereign rights for their gov-
ernment. They want the Western
Allies to stop dismantling German
industry. They showed consider-
able disappointment at the vague-
ness of the announcements at the
end of the Big Three Paris meet-
ing.
German
Socialist
leader Kurt
Schumacher said:
"Adenauer will appear before the
German Parliament
on Tuesday
wretched and with empty hands."
