STRAWBERRIES ALL THE YEAR ROUND. - The Nevada (Cal.) Transcript says:

Felix Gillet has presented us a box of ripe strawberries of the "Princess Dagmar" variety, which had just been picked from the vines in his gardens. Ripe strawberries, some of which measure three and a quarter inches in circumference picked on the 13th day of December, and grew in the open air at an altitude of 2,350 feet above the sea, with huge banks of snow three or four feet deep in sight, and not thirty miles distant, shows what kind of climate we have in California, and particularly in the foot-hills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
