At a meeting of the American Bible Society, in New-York, last Thursday evening, at a notice from the managers, for the purpose of acting on a late resolution of the society to supply every destitute family in the United States with a copy of the Bible, in the space of two years, Hugh Maxwell, Esq. was called to the chair and several spirited addresses were made by different gentlemen. At the close of the meeting, more than seven thousand dollars were subscribed for this noble purpose.—Bos. Palladium.
