Full Text

Legal Murders.—Two criminals were hung the other day, in Delaware, and another is to die upon the scaffold in that State, on the 17th of September, for murdering his wife. If all the wretches are hung, who lie in prison convicted of murder or charged with that crime, there will be a merry time among the hangmen of this country the ensuing six months. Since the first Englishman landed in America there never has been a time when so many murderers were awaiting execution—in proportion to the population—as now. Killing and hanging are every day occurrences of late.
