Richard Oulahan, Newspaper Man, Elected to Sigma Delta Chi.
Sigma Delta Chi, professional fraternity of the School of Journalism, announces the initiation, as an honorary member, of Richard V. Oulahan, Washington correspondent of the New York Times, who was one of the principal speakers of Journalism Week. The fraternity's active membership is made up of students in journalism schools and departments all over the United States.
Few newspaper men have ever been elected to membership following the conclusion of their school careers. The Missouri chapter in the eight years of its existence has initiated only five, including Oulahan and Harry Hansen, the latter literary editor of the Chicago Daily News. Hansen was initiated early last week while in Columbia to speak on the Journalism Week program.
