JAN. 16, 1806.
The Two Millions of Dollars appropriation bill passed to be enacted.
Yeas 76—Nays 54.

The bill was then sent to the Senate as a confidential communication.

A motion to take off the injunction of Secrecy was negatived, Yeas 46—Nays 71.

Jan. 17, 1806. A motion to make public the resolution for the purchase of the Floridas was negatived.—Yeas 46—Nays, 64.

A confidential communication was received from the President, enclosing a letter from Mr. Munroe.

Feb. 6, 1806. A message was received from the President, covering another letter from Mr. Munroe.—The message concludes thus; "Although nothing forbids the substance of these letters from being communicated without reserve, yet so many ill effects proceed from the publication of correspondences between ministers remaining still in office, that I cannot but recommend that these letters be not permitted to be formally published."

TUESDAY, FEB. 11. 1806. The enrolled bill, for appropriating Two Millions of dollars for the purchase of the Floridas, was signed by the Speaker. The next day the President informed the House he had signed the bill.
