BOSTON, June 8.

The Great and General Court have made a Grant of Six Hundred Pounds (lawful Money) for the Relief of the Poor of the Town of Boston, under their Distresses occasioned by the Small-Pox; which Money is immediately to be put into the Hands of the Overseers of the Poor, to be disposed of according to their best Discretion.

His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, with the Advice of his Majesty's Council, and at the Desire of the House of Representatives, has been pleased to issue a Proclamation, appointing Thursday, the second Day of July next, to be observed as a Day of Fasting and Prayer throughout the Province, on Account of the Small-Pox, and other malignant Diseases now in many Parts of the Land.

We hear, that a BRIEF will accompany the Proclamations. to be read at the same Time in every Assembly, exhorting all well-disposed Persons to contribute towards the Relief of the Poor in this Town.

An Account of the Number of People who have died in this Town for several Weeks past, as we find it published weekly in the Boston Gazette.
