Full Text

GRATIFYING INTELLIGENCE.-Mr. Page, formerly of this city, wrote from Vicksburg, a week or so ago, announcing the death of Mr. Peter Casey, formerly of Caseyville, now of Vicksburg, and well and favorably known in this city. A letter was received from Mr. Page yesterday announcing that the report of Mr. Casey's death was an error: that Mr. Casey was not only not dead, but had not even been sick. Mr. Page has been stopping in the country, fifteen miles from the city, during the prevalence of the epidemic, and sent a messenger once a week to the city, to mail and receive letters. The messenger bore out the intelligence of Mr. Casey's death, which we, in common with all his friends, are gratified to learn was erroneous.
