MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1895
The Aransas Pass Herald is insistent that the deep water jubilee should be held in that port at which the deepest water is secured at the date of the jubilee. Of course the Herald thinks that it has a dead cinch on the jubilee in that case, but there is a little work being done at the mouth of the Brazos and in Beaumont country that may change the whole complexion of that dream. All the same, that jubilee would be most fittingly celebrated where the greatest depth of water on the bar is found at that day and date. There is no doubt that Galveston is ready to put up the most money for the blow out, but it is not certain that she can put the most water under a vessel's keel in the show out. San Antonio has her interests at Aransas Pass and at Velasco as well, and is ready to join in the celebration at either end of the forked lines which converge within her limits.
