Injured Brawley Boy Still Lives

Wayne Ellis, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Damon Ellis who was injured in the Thanksgiving day explosion which took the life of his friend, Howard Campbell, 9, was still alive Saturday.

Attendants at the Brawley Community hospital said Wayne was doing as well as could be expected. The two boys entered an unoccupied house Thursday afternoon, found a six-pound can of gunpowder, poured the gunpowder on the floor, and tossed a lighted match into it. The Campbell boy died Friday morning.
