Rights of Indians.

Judge McGarvey, of the Superior Court of Mendocino County, California, has made a decision that is causing much excitement. In a case where a prisoner was brought before him for selling liquor to Indians, he held that under the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States Indians are citizens and have a right to vote; that being citizens they have the same right as other citizens to buy liquor, and therefore the prisoner had committed no crime in selling liquor to them.
