Full Text

The War Democrats of Hamilton county, Ohio, bolt Vallandigham's nomination. A call is published signed by Joseph E. Egley, leader of the German Democrats in Cincinnati, who has repeatedly been in the legislature and occupied a prominent position, Robert A. Johnston, who represents that strong Democratic district, the Sixth Ward in the City Council, Charles Rule, who was elected Trustee of the Water Works by the Democratic party, and recently filled that office; P. Malion, who was elected Judge of the Probate Court by the Democratic party, and others, calling a public meeting at Greenwood Hall, to take further action to prevent the Democratic party from becoming allied with a man who, as they say, "from the commencement of the war, has, we believe, placed himself in direct opposition to the "Government, and who desires to propose terms of peace to traitors, who openly declare they will accept peace on no terms "short of a recognition of a Southern Confederacy.".

The manifesto further says:

" It is manifestly our duty as Democrats, in the present crisis, to pledge the Government not only all the aid in men and means, which the emergency requires, but also by our votes to yield it that moral support so necessary to the speedy accomplishment of its object.

" The true Democracy of Ohio, standing where they ever stood, still maintain the Democratic doctrines of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, a free and untrammeled ballot- box, personal liberty, and the due enforcement of the Constitution and laws and while they so believe and will so act, they do not approve of that anxiety for personal liberty which leads some good Democrats to forget that their Government is struggling for existence.

" This species of opposition leads to paralyze the arm of the Government, encourages treason, gladdens the rebel hearts, and if fostered and encouraged, our glorious Republic must fall."
