Army Daniel, Jr., Chemistry and Physics instructor at Hill High School, has won a Secondary Teacher Fellowship to run for 36 weeks in three consecutive summers.
When the National Science Foundation made its annual grants, Daniel was one of two Jacksonians to get the grant.
His present plans are to enroll at Michigan State University, and pursue the Master of Science degree.
Daniel an honor graduate of Lanier in 1951, finished at Alcorn A. & M. College, Magna Cum Laude, in 1955. He came to Hill High School in the fall of 1958.
The grant pays a weekly compensation plus an allowance for dependents up to four, travel, and all fees.
Daniel is married to the former Frances Stevens of Jackson and they have five children.
These awards are made solely on the basis of ability. The recipient plans to leave for Michigan in mid June.
