Selected Poetry.
[For the Herald of the Times.
Love.
Love is the breathing of the soul,
The echo of a sigh,
The falling of a crystal tear,
A glancing of the eye.
Love is earth's bright and sparkling gem,
Its fairest, fragrant flower,
The star light, of the mind of man,
On life's brief mortal hour.
Love is the music of the heart,
The spirit's gushing prayer,
Love leads us to the fount of life,
And bids us worship there.
Love is the burden of the song
The Saints in glory sing,-
Love their celestial anthem,
To God, the Spirit-King.
