COMMISSIONER LANGERMAN SAYS THAT CAPTIVE IS IN GOOD SPIRITS—IN A CRITICAL CONDITION.
Tangier, Wednesday.—J. W. S. Langerman, commissioner of the Moroccan section at the St. Louis Exposition, arrived here today from the camp of Broussouli, the bandit.
In an interview to the Associated Press, Langerman said: "I left the steamer for Arzila in company with a friend and three Moors, the object being to see Broussouli and try to arrange the present differences. I met Broussouli and his band, fully armed and suspicious of the visit. For a few minutes the situation was critical, but all passed off well.
"Ion Perdicaris, the American, whom Broussouli holds captive, is much better, and in good spirits over the prospect of his speedy release."
