Full Text
For a Two Mill School Tax.
Contrary to the announcement in these columns last week that a meeting of the citizens of this school district would be held on Monday, the meeting took place Friday at the town hall, a good crowd of citizens being present.
The purpose of the meeting, as explained in our last issue, was to decide whether or not a special school tax, and how much, if any, should be levied. After a number of speeches in favor of the extra levy had been made, the voters at the meeting Friday decided, almost unanimously that a two mill tax, was actually needed and voted accordingly.
The two mill tax, while small, will be of great help in further improving the local graded school.
