Full Text

Horse Thieves—Horses seem just now to be in great demand, especially by thieves of the night. We know not how many horses we have seen advertised as stolen within a few weeks.

Even our friend, the children's minister, who addressed the Sabbath school down in Mrs. Munson's Grove, at the great gathering there, a year ago last 4th of July, has had his horse "Comet" stolen. This is a serious loss to him, for the horse and trimmings were worth a hundred dollars or more. But as comets sometimes disappear and then return, so we hope it will be in this case, and that brother Morgan will soon see both head and tail, of his "Comet" again.

In the mean time, let those who have good horses, keep an eye on them, or they may be soon performing in Stuart's cavalry, or somewhere else, equally out of the proper place. This is said for the benefit of our readers. The editor's horse is dead, and he has no fear of his being stolen.
