FARM SECURITY GETS
NEW NEGRO OFFICIAL

WASHINGTON, July 2. (ANP) - Reuben Simmons of Southeast Missouri has been named to the post of assistant to the administrator of the Farm Security administration.

Simmons' elevation comes as an in-service promotion. He has been employed in Farm Security for a number of years, working out of Indianapolis. He moved into the troubled Southeast Missouri area shortly after the difficulties involving a tenant-farmer strike developed there some years ago. He has had charge of Delmo-Labor homes near Charleston, Mo., for the past three years, both under Farm Security, and when they were transferred to the War Food administration.

Simmons, a native of North Carolina, in his early thirties, is married and the father of two children. A graduate in agriculture of Lincoln university, Mo., he succeeds Sam Greer, in the post here. Greer is now a chaplain in the army.
