CANDIDATES AT JACKSON.

The Jackson Whig of the 15th says:

The candidates for Governor addressed this place, on Tuesday last, the largest assemblage of the people of the county we have witnessed for years. We had that our expectations were realized in the speeches of Gen.

The enthusiasm of the people, cheered and invigorated our hearts, our anticipations. His competitor, Gov. Trousdale, evidently felt he was whipped, when in his rejoinder, in a very excited manner, he said, "it was evident that nothing he could say would change the opinion of this that crowd."

It was manifest he wished to change the jury, and seek in other Court houses, a different verdict.
