"The law establishing commissioners for the sale of salt, was put in operation at Turks Islands on the 20th of July, and the price fixed at 17 1/2 cents. All vessels arriving there after that date not duly consigned to some person, fall under the direction of the commissioners, who load them by taking 15 per cent from each salt holder in rotation to make up the cargo, which is shipped at the law price. Cash price of salt 15 cents."
