AT THE SANATORIUM
While this locality has a profusion of handsome holiday decorations, both at homes and places of business, perhaps the most elaborate is at the thicket of evergreens just beyond the nurses' home at Rocky Glen sanatorium. Here the Jolly Old Fellow has left his team of eight reindeer, hitched to a red sleigh six feet long, and gone over in the thicket and is about to descend a chimney with his pack. Everything is constructed on a regular life-sized scale. The sleigh and reindeer in all measure 34 feet in length. At both ends of the scene are brilliantly lighted trees which with a strong flood-light, produce a dazzling effect. The sled and reindeer are carved out of ply board, and the reindeer are in the natural color of brown and tan.
Harry W. Torbert designed and constructed the whole outfit and it is a real work of art and well worth going many miles to see.
A broadcasting system has been installed in the office of the sanatorium, where Christmas music and programs are broadcast to the patients who are not able to see the festivities.
