FATAL DUEL.

We have received information, in such a way as to obtain belief, that on Tuesday of last week, a Duel was fought, in the bounds of Canada, by two young men from Boston, who left that place for the express purpose of KILLING OR BEING KILLED. The particulars of this unhappy affair as related to us are, That the men were partners in trade, under the firm of Blake & Dix; that Blake was a married man; and suspected a criminal intercourse between Dix and his wife, which he afterwards found to be true. The injured husband irritated beyond measure, immediately informed Dix there was but one course to be pursued—To repair to Canada, and abide the event of a Duel, or be exposed to death, by assassination wherever found. Dix preferred the former. They immediately left Boston, and arrived St. Albans by different routs; from whence they proceeded across the line, where the business was Honorably settled. Dix was instantly killed, and Blake returned to Boston. On Thursday following the remains of Dix were carried to Swanton, and interred.
